Throughout the middle school years, children go through growth spurts as they enter puberty. These physical changes require adequate nutrition for proper development. As children become even more independent and capable of making their own decisions, maintaining healthy eating habits is important!

Feeding Tips for Middle Schoolers

Although your child gets to choose how much they want to eat, it is your responsibility to teach and encourage them to choose the most nourishing foods for their bodies. 

  • Start with a healthy breakfast – A balanced breakfast with protein is a great way to help your children say fuller for longer
  • Be a role model – When you prepare healthy foods for yourself, it shows your children how important eating healthy can be
  • Make small changes – gradually replace the less nutritious foods with healthy alternatives
